Per capita, crime in New Zealand is amongst the highest in the world. Many people fall for the 'low crime rate' hype put out by the NZ government and tourism companies. Consequently a lot of people let down their guard when visiting the country and get taken advantage of as a result. It's shameful really.

There is a lot to be said for a strong family. When someone dies in an already physically and somewhat emotionally divided one, the cracks are all the more gigantic.
